These are the U.S. Army guys who don't go out there and fight (the good fight?) but rather do all the other stuff on the base, which uses Saddam Hussein's old palace for office space. The base is protected, sort of cushy compared to the Iraqi world ... WebFobbit could have done with more of this. But this is a minor complaint, and in fact I applaud David Abrams for sticking to his vision and writing the satire he wanted to write instead of adding to the crowded shelf of war memoirs.
